Jarrett Johnston
My work as a therapist is grounded in compassion, authenticity, and liberation psychology. I help people navigate trauma while recognizing the ways our relationships, environments, and larger systems can shape our mental health. I have a particular passion for working with adolescents, young adults, and adults from underserved communities, while welcoming clients from all backgrounds.
Genuine connection is at the heart of my work. I value open, transparent communication and strive to create a space where you can feel comfortable being yourself. Together, we’ll explore where you’ve been, what you’re experiencing now, and where you want to go.
Therapy should help you better understand yourself while building a greater sense of agency in your life. My approach is collaborative, trauma-informed, and tailored to your experiences, needs, and goals.
I integrate psychoeducation with somatic and cognitive approaches, with a particular focus on how trauma and stress show up in the body. Whether we’re processing difficult experiences, understanding patterns, or developing new ways of responding, my style is compassionate, gently direct, and focused on helping you move forward in a way that feels meaningful to you.
My path to becoming a therapist was shaped in part by my own experiences with mental health and the process of finding my way through them. Those experiences strengthened my commitment to care that helps people reclaim a sense of choice, control, and connection.
I don’t believe therapists need to leave their humanity at the door. I bring authenticity, curiosity, and genuine connection into the therapy room because I believe those qualities can make the work feel more honest, comfortable, and meaningful.
Outside of work, you’ll usually find me skiing, rock climbing, spending time with friends, playing video games, or drinking probably too much coffee. I also grew up near the coast, and the ocean remains one of my favorite places to reset and recharge.
